An easy fingerslip error of course, but in some dialects there isn’t a lot of difference between the vowels. Perhaps the oddball humour of drollery may even suggest some slobbering clown in motley?

Hmm. I find the “switched doublet” typos especially interesting: you hit all the right keys on the keyboard but transfer the repetition from one finger to the next. On a qwerty keyboard with traditional fingering you would actually have the same finger typing both the o and the l, so you’re even moving the correct finger for all three touches.

I too get a kind of connection between slobbering and certain varieties of humor. Some would involve the funnyman slobbering, and others the audience.
