"Aiding and abedding terrorists"

Over 2000 hits. Seems like a misspelling driven by Americans’ voicing of intervocalic “t,” rather than an eggcorn – so it goes down here.

This one is all over the political blogs. “Abedding” terrorists might at first blush seem like a way of aiding them. On the other hand, a terrorist with a really busy social life might not be able to perpetrate as much terror. Examples:

The War on Terror has not only dwarfed the War on Drugs, it’s kind of sort of aiding and abedding the drug “bad guys”.

but it seems the press is above getting charged with treason for aiding and abedding the terrorists by giving them tips like—change your phone quick they are listening…

Germany, France and Russia are now brow beating both Syria and Iran, instead of aiding and abedding.
