I was secure in my belief that itis was a straightforward suffix meaning inflammation of, until I looked it up. And, as usual, no. It turns out that it is a bridge leading to nowhere; it means and was originally followed by nosos, “disease”, which was tacitly understood, maybe, for a few years, after it was dropped.
Was not appendicides it was just some stupid hurting virus or something that was living off my inestines and bowels. Wierd huh? Basically a really bad cold.

leukocytosis: indicates acute infection such as appendicides
i have pain just under my right side ribs. i thought it was a pulled muscle, but it seems to hurt more right after i urinate. could it be appendicides?
later: it is tucked under my right ribs closer to my back. i have had previous kidney stone attacks. i just want to make sure its not the appendics.
I don’t think she’s preggers. She may have appendicides or something.
