eyebulb << eyeball

A new blog article on eggcorns has been making rounds on the web. I’ve received a link to it from three separate communication channels in the last 24 hours.

Nothing much new in the article for readers of this Forum, but the comments have a couple of candidates that haven’t appeared here. The first one, “unihorn” for “unicorn.” is not that interesting: “cornus” is Latin for “horn.” The other one, “eyebulbs” for “eyeballs” may have some traction. The substitution can be seen on quite a number of web sites. All the instances can’t be puns.

Eyebulb is a beaut. The return tripper is rare but out there.

My 1996 break light on the right side will not flash even after I change the light ball.
