The French “haute”, (meaning “high”) sounds just like the English “oat”. I think you know where this is going. Mixed in with a zillion puns, I found a bona fide eggcorn and an almost-eggcorn:

Because of her (correct) French pronunciation (and my ignorance), and because of the novelty of having only recently arrived in Scotland (which I associated with porridge), I heard what she said as ‘oat cuisine’.
