find it outrages

I find it outrages that individual members are charged €84 for on-line access (with paper only being only €73!) to the journal.

I also find it outrages that the hospital that Israelis opened to treat injured Palestinians in Gaza remains empty,

no just a lot of people do not find it outrages therefor no need for a coverup.

Google reports about 9k examples.
.
The outrageous/outrages mix shows up elsewhere, too, in both directions. Quite often it may well be just a misspelling, e.g. where the correct spelling is used in the near context. And of course some may be spell-checker errors built on typos or other misspellings.

That’s Outrages Michael Crowley. Michael Crowley is the voice behind “That’s Outrageous,” a monthly column that appears each month in Reader’s Digest.

“That’s outrages! There has to be a way to revoke it! I’m gonna give that judge a piece of my mind!”

It outrageous me, that this murderer has a TV in his cell. He should only get what Lacy has right now.

Anyhow, in the case of “(I) find it outrages” there is a very nice eggcornical analysis available: “I find [that] it outrages [me/whoever]”. And the high numbers (if you can trust them) do seem to indicate that this is well-established.

Dang, I like this one!

Re: find it outrages

I really think is probably a spelling error. I could only find 12 ughits for “find/found it outrages.” And only 6 for “it’s totally outrages.” But I found 43 for “find it ridicules” and 24 for “it’s totally ridicules”—which has much less eggcornish potential than “outrages.”

Re: find it outrages

Bizarre. I find it outrages, not to mention ridicules, that Google would report approx 9000 hits and then reduce them to 12. Yes, you are probably right. Bummas.

Re: find it outrages

I find 67 ughits for ‘enrageous’ and 107 for ‘inrageous’ and although many are wordplay, some aren’t. Rage out, rage in, rage en, it reminds me a little of how cheated I felt as a child when I discovered that flammable and inflammable meant exactly the same thing – what were those adults playing at? And what, now I wonder, are we playing at? It’s outrageous, inrageous and enrageous.
As for numbers, I no longer take any notice at all of raw hits – I plug along to the end of the 7 million and find it’s 670. And they aren’t all ‘unique’ either. I think I might start using “Hakia”, as suggested by rogerthat many months ago. ‘Uhhits’ won’t mean I’ve mistyped or that I’m I’m temporarily indisposed, but only that I’m having a little walk somewhere else, that’s all.
