"buy pass" for bypass

If there is any sense to be made of “buy pass” surgery, might it be that the operation is very expensive without health insurance? Or is a “buy pass” a kind of health indulgence that you can purchase, sort of like a get-out-of-jail-free card?

Online patient updates:
Apparently when you have full occlusions (sp?) and a blood clot, they can not put in stents so instead must do buy-pass surgery.

medical reserach began to indicate that drug-coated stents, one of BSX’s most profitable products, might cause clotting in heart arterties. Doctors began to reject using the devices in favor of buy-pass surgery.

It went head over heals. very sad. the medical guys say the Gentleman that passed had a heart attack he had just recently had a buy pass surgery he was 71.
