Hello, molsen. Welcome to the forum.
“Doughnation,” if anyone spells the word that way, would be an eggcorn. And it would be new to this forum.
In the view of most people who use this forum, real eggcorns need to be uttered or written by someone at some time. They must be standard usage from some person (or even better, some language community) and not puns or deliberate misuses.
Did you see (I say “see” rather than “hear” since “doughnation” would be pronounced like “donation”) an example of “doughnation” that you thought might be a real eggcorn? I had a look at examples of “doughnation” on the web, and I could only find instances of the word that were deliberate puns, or that might have been deliberate puns.
An exception might be the spelling “doughnation” at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Into-It-O … 2825839401 .
Hatching new language, one eggcorn at a time.
