shudder speed vs. shutter speed

I teach photography at a small liberal arts school and I’ve noticed that every semester one or two students will think that the way to get sharp pictures has to do with the shudder speed of the camera. If your shudder speed is too slow the shudder of your body will cause the picture to blur. It makes sense and is more intuitive than picturing a mechanical curtain drawn across the picture plane inside the camera.
