Pedal Stool for Pedestal

Twice I have received this imaginative substitution in student papers. The context is something like this, “Most wives don’t want to be placed on a pedal stool, but they do want to be respected and esteemed.”

And here’s another variation:

Student paper refers to taking “the government off its peddle stools.” It took me five minutes of staring at it to realize she meant “pedestals.”

In this little eggcorn, an unsuspecting YouTube commenter uses peddle stool when pedestal was the word they were seeking.
