Ray Gunn

You might enjoy the attitude-with-humor blog of a professional copyeditor who styles herself “Ray Gunn.” This summer she has joined an internet-based book club called “Infinite Summer.” Those in the group are (re)reading the late David Foster Wallace’s bloated postmodern epic Infinite Jest. More on the reading group is here.

In a recent post called “Jimmy Eggcorn and I Don’t Care,” Ray Gunn has listed some Joycean perversions of English expressions in the Wallace text. They are fun expressions, but I don’t see any examples that would survive the usual tests that we apply to candidate eggcorns.
