cadenza for credenza

Saw this one in an email memo at work. If you google desk and cadenza there are lots of cases of people pairing the two things. Etymology of cadenza (musical term) is from cadence, while credenza is from credence, related to placing food on the sideboard for tasting before royalty ate. I guess both of them are appendages or accessories, though a cadenza is a musical accessory and a credenza is a furniture accessory.

Re: cadenza for credenza

Sounds like a malapropism (since the individuals uttering the wrong word do not know its correct definition). That is, they are mistaking one word in the dictionary for another without realizing it.
