With only three relevant ghits, this eggcornish variant suggests a refreshing kind of over-excitement as much as negative preoccupation:

Reminds me a bit of upsess, which I hoped was a blend of upset and obsessed, but which looked more like a spelling error. Upzest is more credible. Here’s another interesting variant: obseeing, which is seeing things obsessively, from what I can tell, with occasional shadings of obscenity. 281 ughits
When I finally fell asleep I had a very explicit nightmare that he left me for the OW and I saw the details of their interactions and relationship. I woke up in a paic and drenched in sweat and thought “oh good it was only a nightmare,” then it hit me….this really is my new reality.
I am beginning to get angry at myself that I keep obseeing about this situation…

That is the most specific instance of Lesbianism in the whole Bible and even then it is streching it a bit as poeple extrapelate beyond that and obseeing about it.

Finally, I had to include this one although it’s clearly an error – the famous “PutClub” of Chinese students, whose homework it was to transcribe from videos:
Original: They say the images are obscene. But the company says the pictures show nothing more than what you see at a beach or from a plumber working on your kitchen sink.
Homework response: They say the images are obseeing. But the company says the picture show nothing more than what you see at the beach or from a farmer working on your kitchen things.

The “obseeing” transcription error you cite, David, made me think about “obscene.” I found a number of web sites (easily more than 20) that change this word to “upseen.” See examples below. Could this be more than a malapropism?
Examples:
Web fiction on a blog: ” turned back to find a house elf giving harry a very upseen gesture as we found the stairs to the rooms. ”
Travel journal: “There are also an upseen number of museums in this city.”
LiveJournal entry: “Ok well why does it seem that people always get the wrong impression of me? could it be ignorance…how about the fact that modern society is upseen with judging people with one cold stare?”
Thousands and thousands of web sites misspell “obscene” as “obseen.” Could be some semantic motivation there.
There are also a few examples of switching “upscene” for “obscene.” An interesting switch, since “obscene” probably does not have the Latinate “scene” as a component.

Upseen is good. It suggests something that was, or should be, hidden, but that has been brought up-front and in your face. There are several other transformations of the sort from ob- to up-, that bring in the notion of being uppity, overdoing it or being too visible or too forward.
Are they kidding about this guy? He seems to have all the ingredients of being upnoxious…with a capital U.

Obseen and especially upscene are nice additions!

I also wondered if “upseen” could be, well, phallic. As in “upseen gesture.”
