I thought it would be a single instance, but it seemed to eventually propogate among a certain population of misty meanants and fellins.
One of them was a fellow who snatched an order of takeout spaghetti while the customer was paying for it. As angry patrons and employees were closing in on him, he stuffed his booty in a US Mail box.
The bumbling (Local Joke) police arrested the box for receiving stolen property.
