Lovely. This is another instance of the “butt » bud” switch, described here. The database makes reference to the “bud of the joke”. The idea is the similar but not quite the same. “Cigarette bud” is very common on the web; the ubiquity of cigarette buds make them a cinch for an under-our-noses eggcorn.

it’s interesting, this replacement of “butt” with “bud”. perhaps it is a taboo substitution?
edit to add: of course, there is the reverse “bud” to “butt”, as in “nip in the butt”, so it’s obviously more complicated than all that. i do think that taboo substitution is involved, but there may be cases where taboo substitution occurs in reverse?
