"alpha-david" for affidavit

A belated entry to the “find an eggcorn from your name” entries of a while back. An affidavit is a written declaration made under oath. Good old “Fido” is wagging its tail in there. Come to think of it, “alpha-david” doesn’t make much sense. Perhaps it’s an Annie Lehman. Maybe by connection to the biblical David? The strongest David? In truth most of the quotes here are for “alfadavid” so they may have just been floundering around grasping for familiar syllables, and alfalfa and David came within reach.

Car tax info:
if its down as scraped they might also ask you to sign a alfadavid in the soliciters which is just to say u are tellin the truth as to why u dont have tax book and u obtained the car legaly
(http://www.driver.ie/forum/archive/inde … 11610.html)

blog:
I need you (and the rest of the class) to sign a alfadavid just to say you want sue for damages.
(http://whitmorereansgazette.blogspot.co … again.html)

Phone fraud site:
you need to file a police report or fraud, contact the company they are representing and file a fraud case and file an alfadavid for fraud as well
(http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-800-801-0065/2)

Some counties in other states will allow you to sign an alpha-davit stating you are okay with the person doing your work not being licensed, but not in Utah.

There were rare accounts of “half a david” and “Happy David” but I did not find them very credible (e.g.
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index … 831AAsWTKT ; may be apocryphal, see text from 1896: http://www.archive.org/stream/halfhours … a_djvu.txt). I don’t accept just any thing.

Re: "alpha-david" for affidavit

Couldn’t they be referring to you and me, tocayo ? (flexes muscles)
.
Actually, I do think your alfalfular speculation is reasonably good fodder. (Peter had listed “Alfalfa Male” as a band name —seems another word white unto eggcornish harvesting.
.
(fwiw, despite the ink in the first link above, Nahuatl tōkā-yōh ‘name-owner.of’, cf. notōkāyōh ‘my namesake’, seems very unlikely to just be a coincidence.)

we would be too simple-minded to understand it* .

(Possible Corollary: it is, and we are .)

Re: "alpha-david" for affidavit

Now you’ve made a terrible mistake exposing me to such a wonderful word as tocayo, tocayo. And thanks for the link to another great language site.

Re: "alpha-david" for affidavit

So I googled wangwang firm and saw a previous post on scambook about this website being a fraud. I suggest claiming an Act of David through your bank if this has happened to you.
Scambook

I’m innocent, I tell ya. Found first on a Lawyer’s thread
