"Guilt written" for guilt-ridden

There are entries in the forum for “rattled with guilt” and guilt-riddled. I suppose that the new variation, “guilt-written” instead of “guilt-ridden”, might be related to having guilt written all over your face. But they don’t all fit that scheme. In some cases the writing seems to be on the inside, like a burden – like being ridden in fact. That would make it an idiom blend?
