"latteroll" for lateral pass

When I was a kid I was never really clear on whether a sideways pass in football was a lateral or a latteroll. The pass is executed as the quarterback rolls out to the side. I’m not the only one who thinks of it this way.

No kidding, if Keith would have latterolled it to Fantuz or Armstead, we would have had the corner for the TD. We were only 5 yards away from the win.

Puckrus that guy could have been gone for a TD, that guy was holding on for life on Hamilton, I though the guy could have laterolled it pretty easy for a touchdown to the other player who was right there

Riley completed a pass to Verran Tucker, who lateroled to Jahvid Best for a 14 yard score.

one of the guys actually got tackled before he ladderolled it away and he admitted it on TV but the refs didnt call it.

Re: "latteroll" for lateral pass

Great! I see about ten examples on the web.

In my high school we called the pitch play, the one with the lateral option, “student body left/right.”

Hatching new language, one eggcorn at a time.
