Is “sound byte” simply a digitalization (Internetification, if you will) of “sound bite”?

That’s part of the eccentric charm of this forum. There are two search domains that are partially hierarchical and partially exclusive, I think. One searches just the public forum. You’ll find it under the Search menu above. The other is available under Eggcorn Database above. It searches through the contributions that have been elevated to classic status, like entering into the Rock’n’Roll Hall of Fame – but it also catches some of the forum posts. The obscurity of this organization adds depth and extra dimensions to the forum. Sound byte can be found only by a Database search. BTW, no need to apologize for repeat posts. They’re one of the only ways I find to blunder into some of the obscure back rooms in the eggcorn catacombs.

Finally! A forum regular of fine sensibilities and deep aesthetic appreciation, one who understands that the quirkiness of the search engines is not a flaw, but rather the forum’s greatest virtue.
