conflicted -> convicted?

Seen in the 4th main para. here: http://www.adventconspiracy.org/blog/wa … _shopping/

“Last week a woman emailed me in a panic because she was so convicted over the fact that her son really wants a bicycle for Christmas.”

Is this an eggcorn?

Re: conflicted -> convicted?

I can imagine arguments for eggcornicity: the woman is possessed by two warring convictions—the idea that one should give children what they wish for, and the idea that one should spend money prudently. Or perhaps her hesitation to buy the bike makes her feel guilty, like a repentant convict. But both those lines of reasoning feel like a reach to me. I’d say it’s a malaprop.
