serpendipity

A lot of places that become my favorites were just a result of serpendipity (wondering around and stumbling into
restaurants

Life is full of serpendipity if you ever come across a Noemi!

Every band of the electromagnetic spectrum has had its share of serpendipitous sources and the VHE band should be no exception.

This was heard in the wild yesterday (—my Christmas present from my wife and son—) and shows up on the Internet commonly enough.

It is doubtless a blend with serpent(ine) , but is at least somewhat eggcornish in that what is serendipitous is notably non-straightforward, depending on the twists and vagaries of fate (or Providence or whatever). The “wondering around” of the first quote gets into the spirit of the thing.
