It doesn’t surprise me there can be such a mixup on rules at home games. I’m sure alot of players that saw this show will run back to their home game and claim this for the gossip proof.
That’s an incredible eggcorn.
The site you cite is http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/24/ho … es-664977/
I can see one other example of “the gossip proof” on the web:
A fanzine site: “This photo was submitted as part of the gossip Proof the world is ending: I agree with Nancy Grace.”
One could argue, though, that this second citation is actually a conjoined sentence, with “gossip” as the final word of one sentence and “proof” as the initial word of the next.
So we only have one instance of the eggcorn event. Which makes me think that the eggcorn is a one-off, not an established usage for a community of speakers. Can anyone come up with other examples?
Hatching new language, one eggcorn at a time.

Fantastical one-of-a-kind. A nice addition, Elipsis…
There are many clever uses of the “gossip choir”, though none that weren’t intentional. A bit more looking revealed several instances of gossipal for gospel, so perhaps that’s the jumping off point.
Personal goal
go to a service at a church that sings gossipal tunes and people dance

I’m telling you straight up, I would rather relish in silence then to listen to the day to day barrage of either T.V. background noise or Gossipal or
Country. [...] I’d rather listen to Country then Gossipal.

Understanding latex allergies
I have never used a blog before but I cannot believe that the same garbage about latex is being taken as gossipal

News article comment
I have my faith seated firmly in the gossipal of Jesus Christ.
