"Please bare with me"

Is this an eggcorn? I think so…

Re: "Please bare with me"

It’s cute, of course, and I think at least one someone has mentioned it before here on the forum, but I have trouble seeing it as an eggcorn—I don’t think many speakers could possibly think that asking someone else to get naked with them is a way of requesting their patience. Hey, it might help during a very long wait, but that still wouldn’t make this an eggcorn.

And welcome to the forum, Randofu.

Re: "Please bare with me"

Perhaps a more figurative sense of baring is intended—along the lines of baring one’s soul… or something. Even so, I can’t get the meaning to work out well enough to say that it is what the utterer intended. The closest I can come is “please share my embarrassment with me”—but I don’t think this is the way anyone would misconstrue “please bear with me.”

In the case of homophones, misspelling is the most likely explanation.
