Used to be nautical, now it’s personal!

Good one. About two dozen examples” on the web.
Hatching new language, one eggcorn at a time.

I got 33 ghits.
I suspect this one is a pun, given that it’s a cartoon from The New Yorker. (BTW, this guy’s “Cul de Sac” is very witty and literate for a newspaper strip.)
Two others seem to have put a porn twist on the phrase – I won’t elaborate….
The rest look like legit eggcorns.

(Had to put the following URL in quotes – it seems to have confused Textile – note that “and” shows up in italics.)
“http://www.revoptom.com/content/d/comanagement_q_and_a/c/16201” is also a pun, as far as eye can see.

Very nice. Also noted: Shot across the blow, shot across the bowl. And this one is really personal:
FDA and the Nutrition Community And it was like the shot across the bowel of the FDA, saying look, you’ve got to use your power in a restrained and responsible manner.
The sentences leading up to this shot get the bowel rolling : “This is a bill that gave a kind of limited faith haven to nutritional products. ... It could not put a higher burden on them, it could not treat as a primafacialy bad and forcing them to prove that they were good and so on. ”
Admittedly these come from a transcript of a speech, but there are 5 others bowel shots out there to back it up.
