Hey, Athens has its own tutelary deity in Athena, so why shouldn’t Venice get one, too? And Mars and Venice are in fact quite different—the metaphor still works after a fashion. Personally, however, I’d rather be from the place women are from. I hear the pasta on Mars is lousy. Examples:
