'fair warned' for 'forewarned'

I think this is an eggcorn, although one could argue that it’s a perfectly reasonable construction, with no exotic explanation required. However, it’s only about 1/30th as common as ‘forewarned’ and pops up in contexts where ‘forewarned’ would be expected.

Mild salsa served with the meal was about the right heat level; spicy salsa was painfully spicy so be fair warned.

Nice find. I wonder whether this might be sort of a blend—the phrase “Consider that fair warning” might be running some interference in some of the examples.

Re: 'fair warned' for 'forewarned'

Numerous hits for exact phrase “fair warned is fair armed”, which can’t really be a double-barrelled typo

Oh, and lots of possible typos in “weather farecast” as well as “weather farcast”, though not “faircast”, which was what I was looking for.

And, lowering the tone more than somewhat, I wonder about some of the “fareskins” that are out there.

It all sounds a bit Morningside (the suburb of Edinburgh where sex is what the coal comes in).

On the plain in Spain where it mainly rains.
