'ode de' for 'eau de'

I just came across this in a discussion of the Gulf oil spill, and thought it reasonably eggcornish in that a scent can evoke a strong memory and even an entire narrative of events…

Unfortunately it’s difficult to verify how widely it’s used since there seems to be a musical piece by Geoffrey Wharton titled “Ode de Cologne.”

Thoughts?
