Panda / Pander

I just saw this one used on a discussion forum: “We must not panda to their radical extremist behaviour”. Hilarious! I think it is a true eggcorn born of the idea that when one panders to someone else’s proclivities one turns into a fluffy harmless panda against them.

Anyone else’s thoughts on this would be appreciated, of course.

Re: Panda / Pander

Delicious, exquisite eggcorn that I’d not seen before, dlowbeer! Unfortunately, one this good has to be in the archives, and so it is, though surprisingly, it did not excite any comment when originally submitted by Peter Forster.
