"Like a bull in an elephant shop"

The woman had called me to see if I could help her daughter find a home for a “large dog” they had found. She explained that the dog couldn’t come into their double-wide trailer because it would be like a “bull in an elephant shop” . . . this was so genuine and so wonderfully South Mississippi country folk talk I had to share it.

The South does have its share of tortured phrases and language butchery, but have you been the the Bronx lately? ;)
