"down packed" for "down pat"

I just came across this one today. Here’s an example in the wild:

from a youtube comment: “LMAO!!!!!!!!! OH MY GOSH!!!!!!!! She has the sounds down packed!!!!!!!! WOW!”

(http://www.youtube.com/comment_servlet? … PpYasA94sU)

A google search confirms that this is a not uncommon one. It has an Urban Dictionary entry, for example.

Good sighting. But this eggcorn’s been reported already.

In any case, welcome to the forum, Oh Desy.

Shoot! I searched through for “down packed” but not just for “packed”. Ah, well. Better next time, eh?

Not to fret. Independent sightings of eggcorns only strengthen their legitimacy.
