The ultimate origin of the word bigot is unknown, despite several clever propositions. “Bighead” makes a nice double-yoaked * eggcorn. The implication is that racists have an inflated opinion of themselves.

Works well, particularly with the aitch-dropping dialects. Here’s a variant that combines bigot with another old favourite:
