"One swell swoop" vs "One fell swoop"

I have a coworker who uses this phrase often. I think it’s a perfect eggcorn!

I’ve seen “one swell foop” more than once, but I’m sure it’s meant as a joke.

Re: "One swell swoop" vs "One fell swoop"

Welcome, Husker Düde. Swell swoop has been submitted previously. “One fell swoop” is one phenomenally productive acorn. Other versions lurking in the archives (see Search and Eggcorn Database) are: felt, felled, fellow, fowl, foul, full and fail. Other versions at large in the wild but not yet submitted, believe it or not: foal, feral, fall, foil, filthy, svelte.

Ha ha, thank you! Most people think I’m a Corn Husker fan, but, alas, that is not the case.

I will keep searching for the next perfect eggcorn!
