ceded and seeded

I see that there have been sightings of deep-seeded and deep-ceded as well as of ‘seated’ for ‘seeded’ but not, I think:

It, like all Dutch possession on the West Coast of Africa, was seeded to the British in 1872.

the area was seeded to the British.

unlike Nice and Savoy which were clearly Italian but which Italy seeded to

The Austrian Netherlands, Belgium, and Italian territories were seeded to France by Austria.

It’s too close to call but I wonder if the idea of ‘tossed in the direction of’ is there, or not.

On the plain in Spain where it mainly rains.

Re: ceded and seeded

Quite lovely image that makes good sense.

I can’t think of cede/seed in the context of this forum without bringing to mind Pat’s reseeding hairline entry.
