In all the variations that have been logged over the years: ‘beckon call’ ‘beacon call’ and so on, I don’t believe that this has noted:

Hilariously obscure, if that’s what you mean by WTF, but not a WTF typo, certainly. Bacon and eggcorn, if only we can figure out WTH they think the phrase refers to. Yummy with or without explanation, however.
I don’t think we’ve tapped out that vein just yet, either.
