Shared by a friend who is a middle-school English teacher: a student was talking about how he has a “high self of steam.”
It’s easy to see how he had misheard it all his life, and possibly conflated it with the idea of steam=energy (“running out of steam”) or even the tale of the Little Engine That Could.
