Eyelets of Longer Hands

The islets of Langerhans are organized cell structures in the pancreas that secrete hormones, including insulin. If you squint just right when looking at a section of pancreas, they do kind of look like eyelets. But I think the eyelets of Langerhans exist more in the imagination.

Health Issues and Tips
There are cells in the pancreas called Eyelets of Langerhans which produce insulin.

Fitness and diabetes
BCG suppresses the t-cells that attack the Eyelets of Langehorns.

Pudding nostalgia
It wasn’t unusual to come home to find mother at the stove, stirring a pot of pudding [...] whether brimming with dried fruits or small eyelets of rice, youngsters couldn’t wait for the pudding

“Shark histology” (snippet from medwelljournals.com/temp/fulltext/?doi=javaa.2009.1305.1307
As in other vertebrates, the pancreas in fish is an organ that consists of endocrine (i.e., islets of Longer Hans) and exocrine parts.

The previous one is dubious because OCR scanners change Langerhans into Longer hans. I also put the next one down to an error – it can only be some sort of WTFT once more. Cute though.

Surgical nursing notes
Insulin dependent (IDDM or juvenile diabetes) Secondary to destruction of beta cells in the islets of longer hands in the pancreas to little or NO insulin production.
