I first saw this in the wild in a horrible tweet right after the Arizona Gifford shooting that I’d rather not reward with more viewers. A quick search for “prepare for the on slot” showed that this is a popular-enough eggcorn, though:

“I must mentally prepare for the on slot of taste and feeling I’m about to put my body through.”

“Currently they prepare for the on slot of Cholera which is arriving daily at Mission Ranch.”

“Around eleven AM, All took a rest to prepare for the on slot of shoppers.”
It takes some mental twisting to figure out why someone would think “on slot” is correct. I suppose if some sort of distributing mechanism, say a hose, were actually square “on the slot,” then whatever was being distributed—water in this case—would come through the slot at its quickest rate.

Welcome, Andyman. We’ve wrestled with the imagery of an on slot before, about a year ago, and came up with roughly equivalent explanations.
