Out of bounce

Some folks think “out of bounds” should be spelled “out of bounce.”

Examples:

UMC Intramural Flag Football Rules
“Game: 4 Ten minute quarters with the last minute of each half being stop time if the player goes out of bounce or if the pass is incomplete.”
http://www.crk.umn.edu/people/athletics … 0rules.htm

Scrimmage highlights By Gerard Martinez, USCFootball.com Senior Writer
“Kick goes to Cary Harris, who returns it 80-yards. He’s pushed out of bounce by Buehler.”
http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/news?slug … &type=lgns

XBOX Addict
“Also, there were few moments when I passed to my player near the out of bounce line and the ball went towards out of bounce rather than to the player I was passing to.”
http://www.xboxaddict.com/products/prof … uct_ID=362

On the following page the phrase is spelled both incorrectly and correctly.
Monmouth College Wellness
“All Violations will be played out of bounce at the top of the court. A ball out of bounds will be taken out at the top of the court.”
