Bicker is a doughty word that’s been around for 700 years, coming from a M.Du. word for “attack, slash, stab”. Nowadays it means arguing back and forth about petty concerns. Biggering is a nice eggcorn, I think, when applied to arguments about who is bigger than the other.
Quit biggering about such small matters.

Makes sense to me. If it is an eggcorn, it is a clever reconceptualization of “bicker.”

Somehow strikes me that the alternation snickering/sniggering is relevant, and perhaps blackguard/blaggard and maybe some others. Is there something inherently degrading-feeling about the voicing of the intervocalic k sound? Certainly biggering, sniggering blaggards seem more repulsive to me than their less vocal (more voiceless) counterparts.
