Emily format for MLA Format

“About once a year I get a student who asks whether the research paper must be written in “Emily format.” This was in response to someone who quoted a student writing about “Lehman’s terms” (layman’s).

Re: Emily format for MLA Format

That’s a wonderful addition to our collection of Lehman’s terms. I use MLA but have never encountered this before—I’ll have to keep an ear out.

The thread you point to is also interesting to me as a writing instructor—people express a really broad range of attitudes towards discussing student errors online.
