Type-o's for typos

“One quick proof-read could’ve cleaned up two or three glaring type-o’s.”
It makes sense, in a way. Typing mistakes make a bloody mess, easily prevented by “proof-reading.”

In a way. But you don’t seriously think that people spelling it that way have such a sanguinary image in their mind and think that everybody does, do you? And why not type a’s or type-ab’s, then?
