On the weekend I spent a few hours with a person whose first language was not English. He spoke about something that he wasn’t aware of as “under the rudder†instead of “under the radar.†An interesting switch. Hiding under the rudder of a ship may be just as concealing as flying under the radar.
Not sure how common this slip is – instances on the web are hard to find. Here are two:

Blog report of chef contest: “We also hear from Fabio that he likes to be ‘ under the rudder.’ He means radar. â€

They both would be concealing, but the rudder one sounds more uncomfortable!
