Four Bears

And why would our four bears have done that, since other Euro languages* did not?

Whether Macauley said it, or whether anybody said it, or not, my four bears certainly raped India

I can’t see any possible explanation for this.

Re: Four Bears

“Four bears” could refer to the Goldilocks myth. Modern readers mistakenly think that the fairy tale was about three bears and one human child, but a closer reading of the old tale suggests an alternate interpretation. The bears of the story were not like modern bears – they sat on chairs, ate porridge, and slept in beds. When Goldilocks entered their cottage, she tried to make herself a bear by taking on traits of the story-defined urnsinity. As professor I. H. Kopfvogel points out in his article “Die postmoderne Rezeptionsästhetik und Kinder Mythos” The story title, “Goldilocks and the Three Bears,” was a later gloss. The original title was “Goldilocks, the Unsuccessful Fourth Bear.”
