infaces for emphasis?

Student essays are a rich source of eggcorns. Here’s the latest: “The background of the ad is black and special white lighting is surrounding the girl to show the infaces that is being put on her.”

Obviously, if something is emphasized, it’s in your face. The student also has the kind of accent that pronounces “pin” and “pen” identically. Google search turned up no results. Maybe this is a new one?

You’ve done it again, CatherineR. Not only a great unreported eggcorn, a common one: http://www.google.com/search?q=%22infaces+on%22

@kem, What’s your secret? How come you find these things on Google and I don’t? Anyway, it’s nice to be the first to haul in a wild eggcorn.

How come you find these things on Google

Part of the trick is to find the right phrasal context. Mentioned one of the methods here: http://eggcorns.lascribe.net/forum/viewtopic.php?id=783
