enthrilled << enthralled

Yesterday I heard someone use the word “enthrilled” in place of “enthralled.” Makes sense—“enthrall” is often used figuratively to describe the entrainment of delight (“I was enthralled by the performance.”) and the orientation could be described as a thrill.

“Enthrill” is not a current English word. It appears often enough, though, that dictionaries should consider it.

Tamil TV forum: “I’m truly enthrilled by seeing the amount of new singers he has used. ”

Fan site: “Van Damme, enthrilled by the sales and the feedback he got from REGENERATION, will agree to star in the sequel, this time with more screen-time.”

Forum: “Audiophiles, gamers, digital media enthusiasts, and users with home recording studios will gonna be enthrilled by the Velocity ProMagix MSX with Dolby Master Studio”
