furoar << furor

There are noisy furors, and then there are really, really noisy furoars.

At least 50 examples on the web of “furor” being spelled “furoar.” Three of them:

Kenya facebook site: “ The 4 mps should just keep quiet and stop their furoar over iebc selection of candidates of commissioners and chairman by the iebc pane”

Manchester, UK, forum: “I genuinely don’t understand all this furoar over Gordon Brown not calling an election. ”

Australian football forum: “The recent furoar over the Lions and Swans getting ‘preferential’ picks, would then be resolved, to some extent. ”

Hatching new language, one eggcorn at a time.

Re: furoar << furor

Good one. Apparently the British pronunciation is “furoary” or furore, as if Italian. One hit.

I’m going to continue to turn off Home Farm till the furoary has died down because it annoys me more than Nigel – and that’s saying something.
BBC soap

Or as if Canadian or Spanish:

Poor old Modern Warfare 2 is causing a bit of a furor, eh?

esta página a causado furor eh?

I didn’t think it was possible but…

Dazzling in design, this bold ring will cause a fuhrer wherever you go.

One ring to rule them all, and in the darkness bind them.
