Catch a lot of "slack" (flak)

Appears to be a common eggcorn, with 6k+ Ghits.

Most likely a confusion with “give a lot of slack” by those who no longer understand the word “flak”.

This one has come up before and can be found on the e-scrolls here and here. It’s a bit hard to explain. Onomatopoeic? Sublidiomatic? Vanilla malaprop?
