virtuous circle for vicious circle

Virtuous or vicious (or even viscous) circles. This is very common. Is it too common to be an eggcorn?
what is virtuous about a vicious circle?

“Virtuous circle” is a more recent semantic back formation, I think, from the logical term “vicious circle.”
