"Steal trap" for "steel trap"

I read this just now in some online training material: “One good thing about this labyrinth is there are no pesky bosses or spouses with a memory like a steal trap containing a long list of chores for me to do!”

Re: "Steal trap" for "steel trap"

What meaning connections might there be? The trap which is their memory takes their employees’/spouse’s freedom away, i.e. steals it?
.
Seems most likely to just be a misspelling, to me.

we would be too simple-minded to understand it* .

(Possible Corollary: it is, and we are .)
