"a clear conscious" for "a clear conscience"

I found this in a newspaper article about “unfriending” someone on Facebook: “One can cut a cretin with a clear conscious…”

While the “conscious”/”conscience” confusion has appeared on this site in different forms (such as “in good conscious” and “subconscience”), “a clear conscious” is apparently new here. Googling yields nearly 25,000 hits, most of which appear to be eggcornish. I think the meaning connection is apparent, and see no reason why this shouldn’t be canonized as an official eggcorn (with or without the “clear” part).

Re: "a clear conscious" for "a clear conscience"

I stumbled upon this one a day or two ago:

Water conscience and recycle a must
ad for a rental

It seems they meant “water-conscious”. It comes as no surprise that the conscious/conscience eggcorn is a round-tripper.
